Chapter 14 SCXI Hardware
©
National Instruments Corporation 14-11 DAQ Hardware Overview Guide
SCXI_Calibrate_Setup function to check your bridge circuit. The
SCXI-1327 terminal block has DIP switch configurable attenuators that
can divide the input signals applied to the SCXI-1120 or SCXI-1121
by 100. You use the
SCXI_Scale function to compensate for the
attenuation when you scale your binary data to voltage.
Please refer to the SCXI-1120, SCXI-1120D, and SCXI-1121 user manuals
for information on the hardware-selectable signal conditioning features
available on the modules.
The SCXI-1120, SCXI-1120D, and the SCXI-1121 modules support both
multiplexed and parallel operating modes.
SCXI-1125
The SCXI-1125 is a jumperless version of the SCXI-1120 described in the
SCXI-1120, SCXI-1120D, and SCXI-1121 section. The SCXI-1120
description applies to the SCXI-1125 except that you configure the gains
and filter settings on the SCXI-1125 through software not jumpers. In
addition, the SCXI-1125 only has support for the MTEMP configuration of
the terminal block onboard temperature sensor.
SCXI-1122
The SCXI-1122 has 16 differential analog input channels. The input
voltage range is 5 to +5 V. The SCXI-1122 has a software-selectable gain
that applies to all channels on the module; use the
SCXI_Set_Gain
function to program the module gain. The gain fields in
Measurement & Automation Explorer are not used by NI-DAQ; those
fields are used only by LabVIEW. This module also has a programmable
lowpass filter with cut-off frequencies of 4 Hz and 4 kHz. Use the
SCXI_Configure_Filter function to select the filter setting.
The SCXI-1122 supports multiplexed mode only; it does not support
parallel mode.
You can use the SCXI-1322 terminal block with the SCXI-1122 that has an
onboard thermistor that you can use to do cold-junction compensation for
temperature readings. Use the
SCXI_Single_Chan_Setup function to
select the sensor for reading. You can use the thermistor conversion routine
described in Chapter 5, Transducer Conversion Functions in the NI-DAQ
User Manual for PC Compatibles to convert the thermistor voltage to
temperature.
